Lobbyists' gifts to House members attending GOP National Convention buried in report

Documents posted today on the Missouri Ethics Commission website indicate lobbyists hid contributions to individual House members attending the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., by attributing them to the Majority Caucus.

Four lobbyists buried $3,689.70 in meals in that fashion, according to the reports, including the following:

-$860.10 from Ron Fitzwater, lobbyist for the Missouri Pharmacy Association

-$934.80 from Drue Duncan, lobbyist for Pfizer, Inc.

-$934.90 from Brent Evans, lobbyist for Missouri Hospital Association

-$959.90 from Thomas Krewson, lobbyist for Comcast.

All meals were listed for Aug. 26.

We can continue to expect more of the same until the ethics laws are significantly revised both in Missouri and elsewhere. Rick Nichols.

Pay particular attention to how much the Silver Dollar City folks give the Republicans. It will be enough to wipe out hunger in the entire county for a long long time.
