Silver Lining in a Funnel Cloud, Turner e-books on sale for three days

The story of how the City of Joplin and the Joplin R-8 School District from the day of the Joplin Tornado through the firing of City Manager Mark Rohr and the 'retirement" of Superintendent C. J. Huff is told in the pages of my book Silver Lining in a Funnel Cloud and for the next three days, the book version, normally priced at $9.99, will be on sale for $4.99.

Silver Lining details a turbulent four-year period in Joplin history in detail with one revelation after another about some of the names that have become associated with the city in the post-tornado era, including Rohr, Huff, former Mayor Mike Woolston, Texas con artist David Wallace of Wallace Bajjali, R-8 Assistant Superintendent Angie Besendorfer, Joplin Globe Editor Carol Stark, investigator Tom Lorraine, and City Council members Bill Scearce and Ben Rosenberg.

The sale also extends to four of my earlier e-books, two novels and two non-fiction titles:

-My first novel Small Town News, normally $4.99 is on sale for 99 cents. The book is a fictionalized version of events that happened in Diamond on October 31, 2001 when the bank was robbed and School Superintendent Greg Smith vanished on the same day.

-My third novel, the one that got me fired, No Child Left Alive, normally priced at $9.99, is on sale for $2.99. The book covers one year at a dysfunctional high school in a district where the superintendent is narcissistic, his assistant is a schemer and a tyrant, and the teachers are caught between a system that is designed for them to fail and out-of-control students.

-Let Teachers Teach,  a collection of essays on education, is reduced in price from $9.99 to $2.99.

-Best of Sports Talk, a collection of some of my best sports stories from my years as a newspaper reporter, normally priced at $4.99, is on sale for 99 cents.

The sale ends at 10 a.m. Saturday.

The books can be purchased at the links above or by going to Amazon.com.
