Teacher arrested: Kids may have driven her to drink, but she can't come to class drunk

An Arkansas high school history and psychology teacher was removed from her classroom and arrested on public intoxication charges after apparently showing up for school drunk Friday.

Ann Higgins, a teacher at Maumelle High School, smelled of booze and was acting strangely, according to the Maumelle Police Department.

Her breathalyzer reading was 0.14, nearly twice the legal limit.

A school spokesman said Higgins had been suspended with pay.

So you want to be a Joplin science teacher?
