Greitens order flags flown at half-staff for murdered Clinton police officer

Governor Eric Greitens has ordered that the U.S. and Missouri flags at state buildings in all 114 counties and the City of St. Louis be flown at half-staff on Saturday (Aug. 12) in honor of Officer Gary L. Michael, of the Clinton Police Department. Officer Michael, age 37, died on Aug. 6 while serving the citizens of Missouri.

In addition, Governor Greitens has ordered that the U.S. and Missouri flags at all state buildings in Henry County be flown at half-staff from Aug. 13 to Aug. 19.

“Officer Michael’s family and his department still grieve, and the entire state of Missouri joins them in their grief,” said Governor Greitens.

Under Governor Greitens’ order, U.S. and Missouri flags at all state government buildings will fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Aug. 12, 2017, the day the funeral services for Officer Michael will take place, and remain at half-staff in Henry County until Aug. 19.
