Jasper R-5 Schools on lockdown after threat

The Jasper R-5 School District is on lockdown following a threat, according to a news release.

The lockdown is occurring at the same time police officers are at Carthage High School investigating a reported school shooting threat.

The Jasper Police Department issued the following news release about an hour ago:

Jasper Schools are on lockdown.... This is a precautionary measure to an open threat on social media in reference to a school shooting. No specific school has been mentioned. Again. This is a precautionary measure. There IS NO IMMEDIATE THREAT at Jasper Schools. Please help get the word out by sharing this.
