Charlie Davis: Sending National Guard to protect the border is a good idea

Rep. Charlie Davis, R-Webb City, says he expects the Missouri National Guard to be called to protect the nation's southern border and he fully supports the idea.

In the accompanying Newsmakers video, Davis tell interviewer Judy Stiles President Trump's asking for National Guard members to be sent to the border is the right call because of various crimes that are occurring that are being committed by people coming to the U. S. from south of the border.

"It's not an anti-immigration issue," Davis said. "We have a big problem with guns coming across our border and going to M-13 members and other gang members."

Davis also cited the nation's opioid problem and truckloads of heroin coming across the border."

The president's move is "not trying to keep people out," Davis said, noting that "we've got great Hispanic friends in our county and I think they should stay."

Do does good ol' boy Charlie have any idea who is going to pay for sending the Guard to the border? What new tax will they create to pay for it?

Do you have any idea who pays the cost for education, health, etc for the illegals coming across the border? Would you care to wager if it's cheaper to enforce the law or if it's cheaper to support illegals?

Education costs come from property taxes to largest extent. If a person rents a house or apartment the owner pays taxes so the renter is paying for education if they have any children. As to health care I would venture to say that our non-working welfare mothers with several children from several fathers create a larger burden on our health care system by not contributing to our tax base and who go to the emergency room for care that could be done by a physician much cheaper than method used. I am not sure it is cheaper to enforce the border as the uneducated white folks would rather collect welfare than work in chicken plants which therefore keeps the cost of groceries down for the rest of us in large part to people wanting a better life and willing to work for it.

Illegals do not pay income taxes, so talking about other people who create a burden on tax payers really isn't a defense not securing the borders.

But for you RWNJ's who seem to have conveniently forgotten, the jackass you call president said Mexico would pay for the wall. He also said you would have the greatest health care. Why don't you get your welfare repubs to do the work at the farms and poultry plants that the illegals do. They would rather have their welfare and let everyone else pay for their hospitalization and medication.

Healthcare issues are Trumps fault?

Mexico and the other 190+countries in the world control their borders 10 times better than the United States.
I travel throughout the world, and am asked for my documentation frequently, which I gladly oblige and respect the other country.

The liberals must love a 200% increase in illegals, plus opioids and human trafficking-/ don’t forget the frequent raped of the coyotes in the carsvansy.

Still dancing around the facts aren't you. Did Trump say Mexico would pay for the wall? (waiting for the republican alternative facts answer) Did Trump say you would have the best health care? (also waiting for the Republican alternative facts answer)

Say WHAT?!

The president's move is "not trying to keep people out," Davis said, noting that "we've got great Hispanic friends in our county and I think they should stay."

Excuse me, Mr. Davis. Have you been listening to the president's own words? That's sure not way ICE is acting either.

@10:51. So maybe we should kick people out of the country for not paying taxes! Yea, that's the ticket! Uh, wait......well dammit. I thought we had something there. We would have to find another president. But, on the other hand, not paying taxes makes them smart. Trump 101 from Trump University.
