Former Rangeline Sonic supervisor's trial on statutory sodomy charge delayed

The statutory sodomy trial of former Rangeline Sonic supervisor Chris Alred, originally scheduled to begin Tuesday, April 24, has been delayed at the request of both sides, according to Jasper County online court records.

Pre-trial motions in the case will be heard during a 9 a.m. May 21 hearing.

Alred allegedly forced a teenage Sonic carhop to perform a sexual act on him on March 1, 2016.

Alred is being held in the Jasper County Jail on a $10,000 cash only bond after an August 28 Sarcoxie Police Department stop led to a driving while intoxicated charge against him. Alred has previously pleaded guilty to DWI five times. He was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
